Does the ignoring of the Iranian Presidents comments on Homosexuals illistrate how far the left will go?

When I heared the translation of the Iranian Presidents comments on homosexuals being non existent in Iran and "not a problem in his country" I figured that would be the headline the next day; the lead story on the news; but it was non existent? Is this an illustration of how far the left will take its war on America, on George Bush and on current American policies towards Israel, Iraq and radical Islam? They will accept and tolerate a racist bigot (President of Iran) simply because of their common enemy in George Bush?

But I really think that the Iranian president has a lot worse problems then anti-homosexual sentiment. Like the fact that he's so out of touch that he believes there are no gay people in his country.

Just because other issues were emphasized in the press coverage of the Iranian president's visit, it doesn't follow that this means that anyone is accepting or tolerating a racist bigot. The president of Columbia University is considered moderate to liberal, yet publicly denounced his visitor. Both liberals and conservatives are against tyranny.
