How are people really believeing that Iran could beat Israel?

Israel could demolish all Palestinian establishments in a week. If it cant beat Iran by itself, the United States will make sure it gets done. And trust me, we wont be nice.

1. They have already beat Iran in war. Last time it happened, Iran was one of many different attacking countries, and Israel routed all of them in short order.

3. I asked my Civics teacher about this in high school and he told me a funny story: Iraq and Iran fought a border dispute for 3 years. Neither gained any ground and both eventually gave up. The US defeated that very same Iraqi army in 3 WEEKS. Israel is funded by the US, and they defeated nearly all of the middle east in the 6 day war by themselves. Isreal would DESTROY Iran, It would be an absolute joke
4. Please don't include me by saying 'we'. I certainly don't condone my country taking such action. A full scale war between Iran and Israel would be a huge mess for all sides involved.
5. The problem that other nations are now wrestling with is the likelyhood that Iran will try to use a small nuclear device on - say Haifa or Tel Aviv.
6. I don't think Iran would win, but there are no certainties in war. Just look at Vietnam. We had the military capabilities to wipe that place clean, but political factors like protesters at home and abroad, and pressures from other nations crippled us. Same thing could happen to Israel. Another shining example is the USSR in Afghanistan. A military superpower with no hesitation about killing civilians vs. an unsophisticated country stuck in the dark ages (with a small amount of help from the CIA). There are more factors involved in warfare than just the number of soldiers you have and the technological superiority of your weapons. Troop moral (and that of the civilian population at home) are huge factors.
7. Technically only a country that could beat the United States (if such a country exists) could beat Israel. But if Iran decides to use a nuclear weapon they'll bypass the whole Israel situation and simply end the world. 1 nuke at the US = 1000 nukes from the US = nuclear winter = destruction of the human race. Yay!
8. Israel actually doesn't have the manpower or military strength to destroy Iran. It may do it an awful lot of damage, but if there's a lesson that can be drawn from the last 100 years of war, its that the team with the most space and most people tends to win.
9. Unless they manage to get China on board, they don't have half a chance. However, if WW3 ever occurs, at this stage it looks like the allies will be going up against the Chinese, so the Middle East will probably go against the US.
10. I think if the U.N. let Israel off its chain, Israel could and would destroy Iran quickly and efficiently and without remorse.

12. Israel could wipe Iran off the plant with the push of a button, and it may just happen. They have every right to defend themselves.

Nonsense If the Iranians were willing to fight a war of attrition then Israel would be a smoking hole in the desert in short order, The Americans would never come to Israel's aid against Iran because if they did then the Iran and the other Arab nations would turn off the supply of oil and the US economy would collapse shortly thereafter
15. Well, when you say Israel, do you mean the US because the US funds and basically fights Israel's wars for them? If Israel did not have the US the Palestinians would have gained their land back in a matter of months. Iran is a powerhouse compared to other middle eastern countries, with the US and Israel against Iran, it would be a close one. Iran has a great Air Force so I don't know.
16. Iran was not involved in the six-days war. Back then the shah of Iran was an ally of Israel. After all, Iran is not an Arab country, Arabs don't know how to fight. The Iran-Iraq war was fought in a desperate moment in the history of Iran. And Iraq was backed by US, received weapons form USSR and weapons from european countries( They used german-french chemical weapons on Iranian soldiers in Iran ). In fact, they fought much like cowards in the war, slaying and raping whole populations of "khorramshahr" and other cities they sieged in the first days of war. Iran's primary military forces (Artesh) were intentionally weakened by the leaders to stop them from committing a possible coup d'etat. And the occupied lands were taken back mainly by people and revolutionary guards ( Basij and Sepah ). I think that US can probably beat Iran, but it won't be like that of Afghanistan or Iraq. And trust me, we wont be nice either, Iranians have got a strong sense of nationality which goes beyond their temporal rulers.
17. if israel can "demolish all Palestinian establishments in a week" why havent they done it yet?? cuz if they really can then the Israeli government is letting so many of their people die... ohh yea great people.. and what about every other country out there that hates america... all those muslim countries... russia... china... none of them are our biggest fans.. if they were forced to choose who would they pick?? i say iran... so watch out US.. iran has its defenses
18. this will never happen. discussing it is a waste of time. Iran is being made into the big scary boogie man, just like iraq was 7 years ago. remember the claim? 45 minutes to destroy the world with biological or even nuclear weapons if sadam gets angry. baloney. its the same with iran. they too are being vilified and victimised by the western media. remember, nowhere is as bad as it seems on the news(except somalia maybe) :) this is what will happen: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will lose his presidency in the elections of June 12, 2009 and hopefully Mir-Hossein Mousavi will take over. then Iran will gradually become democratic and progressive again.
19. awww... yah you're right israel could probably beat iran, but whats the point? they already stole land from the poor palestinians by saying ""oooo OOOO it was a promis by god ooo OOOO we need the land"... they have killed so many innocent people, and kicked them out of their homelands for selfish reasons... so destroying iran and killing about a billion more people would be like eating cake. I really wonder who the real monsters are in this world. i feel sorry for you for not living in reality and having to live with that bird brain of yours for your whole life :)
20. Who are WE? I am sure I do not want to be a part this. It is better to stop thinking of war & start talkinng about peace. The war between Iran & Israel will be a bloody one. Israel does not have Iran's man power. Iran has a huge army with advance technology, much more than what you think. War between Iran & Iraq lasted 8 years, and Iraq was supported by US & Israel big time.
