Is Iran President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad against the policies of the State of Israel or does he hate Jews?

So if he isn't so horrendous like many people state, why is the US government portraying him as the modern Hitler?

8. I think it has something to do with the establishment of the State of Israel, following WWII, it is not about the religion, but the land.
9. He believes the Arab land was illegally given to the Jews in 1948. Remember, until then that land was Palestine. (properly, the British Mandate of Palestine). In the Arab culture, land is everything. Over there, land defines a person's wealth the way money does here. That goes for nations, civilizations, etc. as well.

13. We DO NOT hate Jews. We hate Israeli policies, but this shouldn't be mixed with religion. Yes, some Muslims hate Jews, but that is not common for Iranians to do. It's not at all part of our beliefs, plus, by the teachings of prophet Mohamed, we are supposed to show respect to especially the followers of Christianity and Judaism. The media is portraying him as a Jew-hater in order to convince people that Ahmadinejad is a Hitler-loving nutcase.

15. There is a great deal of injustice in the world and like many antisemites he focuses on and exaggerates the ones in Israel. Iran is an astoundingly corrupt regime that rather than correct their own failings needs foreign scapegoats, which happen to be both Israel and the United States (The Great Satan). Iran routinely has mass executions of their own students and other members of their population for the crime of free speech or "deviant behavior.". The government of Iran is also a "state sponsor" and exporter of terror (read murder of innocents) targeting both Americans and Jews in other countries. Iran has a truly a sick, violent and abhorrent regime with a horrible record on human rights and should be judged as such. We should keep Ahamdinejad's mushroom-clouded rantings in perspective.

17. There are about half a million Jews living in Iran freely. I have had a Jew teacher at high school (teaching physics), and a couple of Jew friends at college. No one hates them because they are Jews, and they hated none of us. It is all about the policies of the government of Israel.
