- Communication is key to ending strife.
- There's always a place for communication. War should always be the last resort. Germany wouldn't be here if we wiped them all out. If talks fail, then unfortunately war seems the only option
- too much green stuff so has the jewish state americas worse enemies are the leaders of their own country
- Nope. But torturing prisoners is a war crime that the former President and vice President have admitted to.
- Nothing wrong with communication. Communication is the key. Give the man a chance.
- It's not treason, but it's quite unamerican in spirit. The European Union and UN have been trying to take the approach of appeasement with Iran's president and with organizations like Hamas, as they always take throughout history, which doesn't seem to work with these people. Obama thinks he can make a difference through diplomacy, well then.. good luck to him. Hopefully he'll succeed. And more hopefully.. it won't be a dejavu of Chamberlein in world war 2 coming back to Britain saying he negotiated with Hitler and has a document signed by Hitler agreeing that he won't attack his neighbors. We all know how that worked out.
- errr....what have the israelis done?!!!! killed more people than hamas have ever done!
- Talking a problem down has to be the right way, "Gun ho" Bush tactics costs lives.
- You want to send a million troops to Iran as well as Iraq? Havent you wasted enough soldiers lives and Iraqi people's lives? And the Israelis have killed enough civillians on the Gaza strip. They think they can do whatever they want! Well they cant! OBAMA IS CORRECT, OK?
- i think that it is a disgrace that a citizen of the usa , thinks that diplomacy is no good, and that the only way forward is military, look at iraq and afghanistan, they are disasters.
- if it brings world peace yes he is trying to make it a better place for everyone to live in , don,t jump be for you know what he is going to do it is better to know your enemy then not know give obama a chance
- "time to put away these childish things"... Saint Paul
- I think you went deaf on the word TRY mate.
- its called democracy and diplomacy, yes it has been missing from the foreign policy of the USA for the past 8 years, but now its back on the agenda
- If you want to communicate with a terrorist like Ahmadinejad, write a letter and tape it to the bomb.
- the larynx is mightier than the nuke
- You are free to hold whatever opinion you choose, but it's always best if you start with the facts. Ahmadinejad did not say that he wanted "to wipe Israel and the jews [off] the face of the earth." That was a mistranslation of what he said. Further, although I am not a fan of Hamas, it is impossible for them to have killed "millions of Israeli children," or even millions of Israelis. The death rate in Israel, as of 2008, is 5.41 per 1000 people (see link). Given that Israel's current population is just over seven million, that means that in a given year about 38,000 Israelis die. That's all Israelis, not just children. That also means that in, say, the last twenty years a total of no more than three-quarters of a million Israelis of all ages died from all causes. Neither Iran nor Hamas is an "enemy" of the US. They have opposing views, to be sure, but that does not make them enemies. Even if they were enemies, talking to them cannot hurt. Do you think the only way to settle differences is through military action? Even Nixon, that hardline Cold Warrior, broke the ice with the Soviet Union and Communist China. The US and the world were better, and safer, for it. Finally, treason is giving aid or comfort to the enemy, not talking to him. If it were treason to merely talk to an enemy, then no war would ever end through negotiations, but continue until one side was annihilated or both sides were simply exhausted.
- I really feel sorry for people like you who have ruined the reputation of American people.Im sure there are just a few American who think like you. Diplomacy is always the best.
