Why is ahmawhateverhisnameis of iran allowed to give a christmas speach?

In Iran converting to Christianity is punishable by death. He obviously has no respect for Christianity or it's values.

6. Because, he is the leader of their nation. And, by that, he has the right to make a speech on behalf of Iran to the Western/Christian world on one of our biggest holidays. Saying he has no respect for Christian values seems awfully uneducated. There upwards of a million Christians in Iran. They are able to celebrate Christmas, Easter, Annunciation and other Christian holidays in public areas that are mainly Christian and in their Churches. Unlike in Saudi Arabia - Bush's second biggest ally in the region - where it is illegal to possess a Bible.
