Does Iran believe Columbia University represents the United States of America?
My apologies to the Iranian people. One Ivy League school can't speak for New York. The state of New York does not represent the entire nation. The president of Iran is not a dictator, but elected by the population. He did not come here for propaganda, threats, or attacks on our present leaders. The university's reception was embarrassing. We are a free and better society than that. Being guaranteed the First Amendment does not mean we shouldn't show dignity and respect, irrelevant of friend or foe. If fellow citizens don't have anything to contribute to America's positive image, please stay away from foreign affairs. How many intelligent Ivy Leaguers have caused problems for the USA? DON'T PULL A FAST ONE LIKE THAT AGAIN.

- agree
- "Does Iran believe Columbia University represents the United States of America?" I honestly hope so. Yeah, I think we behaved like children, but I sincerely hope we sent a chill down the spines of their true leaders.
- lmao i know he came to our country to rant on how horrible we are and that asshole doesnt believe that the Holocaust happened when it was the most document thing! i hate it when some "important" comes to nyc b.c i live there and theres a gridlock everywhere from 42nd- 49th and on the fdr from 63rd and down to seaport and thats ALOT OF traffic even in place where there is no traffic
- I think they should have honoured the original agreement of the speech and question and answer period, let them put the questions and allow him to respond. The remarks from the podium by the University official were out of line. It's one thing for the man to hang himself by his comments and another to attempt to lynch him. I don't believe in censoring the Iranian leader or the students in any case.
- We are Free.So we are fre to get hell to a leader we do not like. That is why he got what he got and he deserves more than he got. He should have not gone to the US he did could not handle the critics. We will do it again and again Why because we are free unlike his people. One step out of line in Iran it`s a rope for you.
- Yes, I think so.i have to be honest I answer your question just for the beautiful avatar that you got what a beautiful chow chow I have two and three puppies. The best avatar I have eversee in my life.
- of course it does.
- Better question: Does the US believe Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a good representation of Iran? (He's obviously a representation because he's the elected president, however, are his view representative of Iran)
- lets see.. Bush was ivy league both of em.. Kerry.. yup.. Clinton... sure.. no on the real tho.. yeah man.. the pres of Iran.. just whooped usa's ass with his mouth... he made bush look like a A.A. jesus freak rather than a Christian scholar that he claims to be.. abujimajan (sp) knows his scripture his politics and is way smarter than anyone that is running the show in the states... usa=owned. the sad thing.. the very saddest thing of all is that Americans still fall for the same damn trick over and over again.. there are not WMD's... Iran holds the cards what are yah gonna do now? on 60 mins.. abjimajajad (sp) says that the bush is 1 a war criminal.. made light of interrogation information that was used to invade.. made light of a man of god occupying a country.. and then claims bush is using this beefed up invasion plan to get re elected (edit: his party re elected)... sounds about right... don't get me wrong abujimablah (sp) is a smug politician but he has all the high ground right now... kiss the ring.
- Does Iran believe Columbia University represents the United States of America? Of course not. Do you mean the Iranian people or the Iranian government? I cannot believe that Iranian people do not know what's really going on. However this does not mean that when Columbia President Lee Bollinger described Mr Ahmadinejad as a "cruel dictator" who denied the Holocaust, it was the right thing to do. All those who went to that appearance of the Iranian President knew his background and were fully aware of the remarks he made about the holocaust and the destruction of the state of Israel. I do not think that Ahmadinejad required or deserved such a description of himself in the introduction itself. I believe Lee Bollinger should at least have had the decency to wait for him to make his speech before challenging his views, like every other person who wanted to do so there. Having said that I do not think Ahmadinejad could have expected the red carpet rolled out for him in the USA. Yet, he did not come there with a bomb round his waist- belt and I think in a civilized society someone who doesn't really have 'blood on his hands' but whose views are different from many people including myself has a right to express his views and defend them.
- I don't know, but the Iraqis during the Gulf War thought our soldiers had competetion with Bart Simpson concerning their girl friends! There's not much difference in an Iraqi and an Iranian!
- No we dont think columbia university represents the United States of America, and you didnt send a chill down our spines either. But I am very dissapointed in the way you treated our president, he should still be respected as a human being regardless of his image in the USA. In Iranian culture you should be comfortable and respected in somebody elses home, not interegated and humiliated.
