Why do Republican Presidents do the bidding of Iran?
If you look at recent history Democratic President have been much tougher on Iran than their Republican counterparts. Kennedy threatened the Shah with action over human rights, Carter pulled the rug from under him ,and Clinton revamped the 5th fleet and applied tough sanctions against Iran. But Nixon sold the Shah all America's new weapons systems. Reagan made a secret deal with the Ayatollahs to accept all their demands on condition that the hostages from the embassy seizure were not released until his inauguration. This basically won the Presidency for Reagan. Later in 1981, the US signed the Algiers accord with Iran transferring billions of frozen Iranian assets and other measures. He then went on to sell Iran vital spare parts as part of another arms-for-hostages deal against American law ( Iran Contra). The two Bushes have also done their part. Warring against both Saddam and the Taliban, Iran's arch-foes and pushing up oil prices have kept the regime alive.

- Carter pulled the rug from under him! Fast forward to New Years Eve, 1977: President Carter toasted the Shah at a state dinner in Tehran, calling him "an island of stability" in the troubled Middle East. What the president also knew, but chose to ignore, was that the Shah was in serious trouble. As opposition to his government mounted, he had allowed his secret police, SAVAK, to crack down on dissenters, fueling still more resentment. Within weeks of Carter's visit, a series of protests broke out in the religious city of Qom, denouncing the Shah's regime as "anti-Islamic." The popular movement against the Shah grew until January 16, 1979, when he fled to Egypt. Two weeks later, thousands of Muslims cheered Khomeini's return to Iran after fourteen years in exile. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/carter/peopleevents/e_hostage.html
- Wow, and I thought it was a democrat woman that dressed up in one of their burk-things and knelt down in front of them and kissed their butt. Silly me.
- By the time our evil CIA informed President Carter that the Shah was oppressing his people and they were ready to revolt, it was too late to resolve the issue without military intervention by the U.S. The CIA and French intelligencia practically escorted the Ayatollah to the airport in France to go back to Iran, and also the U.S. escorted the Shah to Egypt. The Iranian revolutionaries should have thanked Carter, but they vilified him for removing the Shah. They wanted to put him on trial for crimes against his people. Yes, the conservatives are always outthinking themselves. Reagan and the CIA also created and armed Al Qaeda. Dee dee dee!!!!!!!
