President Iran

Is Iran within its international rights to pursue nuclear technology?

Does Iran have the right to pursue nuclear technology? Does the US not trusting Iran even matter? So...The answers seem to suggest, in a nut shell, that the US is above the law and does not respect sovereignty.

  1. It matters to The U.S. so it matters to the world. This may sound arrogant, but because of it's economic and military power the U.S. can act unilaterally and cause serious ramifications for many other nations. It's in the interest of other nations to make sure America feels secure.
  2. Yes and no. Iran certainly has the right to pursue nuclear technology for energy production - although they don't have enough native deposits to make this economical. Thus, it is virtually certain that all 'energy' research and development is a cover for weapons development. Even with regard to nuclear weapons, it can be argued that a sovereign nation has the right to develop such devices for self defense - but nobody in their right mind believes for even a moment that Iran has such goals in mind. They will drop a nuke on Israel the moment they get the chance; and the world is more than willing to sacrifice another two million Jews to preserve their vaunted image of 'impartiality,'
  3. yes let then go ahead it's a independent and 'sovereigh' nation
  4. Iran isn't stupid. They probably ARE pursuing nuclear weapons, but they most likely won't use them. Nuking Israel will result in a HUGE dogpile against them.
  5. It's not the question of Iran's right, which it has or the the threat it would impose but a simple matter of total lack of reliable command and control system to handle nuclear weapons. There is every possibility of such weapons falling in to the hands of extremists or terrorists and there is no guaranty that Iran can prevent it.One can imagine the magnitude of complications it can cause and America shall be the first target.By the way,why does a small country want nuclear weapons when they can't even handle them except for some narrow political or even, religious reasons?Iran has a long way to go in human development and host of other issues instead of being a nuclear power.
  6. Iran is a developed sovereign nation, not only is Iran within its rights to develop the technology, no foreign power has the right to stop it. Iran has never invaded another nation and despite its rather divided leadership poses a threat to no one. I would be more concerned about the more serious issue of nuclear weapons held by Pakistan in all it's political turmoil. Then there is Bush's endorsement of US plans to place US nuclear warheads in a low Earth orbit, with a history of so many failures in terms of US very unreliable space technology, this weapons system is a threat to us all (including the USA). USA can't even keep its current sattelites in order and China is way ahead in terms of its own "Star Wars" missile defence system.
  7. Hell No...Come on now.Thats like letting a 2yr old child try to fly an airplane blindfolded!
  8. Were good with science and mathematics. Were good with IAEA too. Playing along the line. No one mess them on the right to electrical energy. Luke 9.25,55-56,60 Why are they nailing themselves to the cross? With all the cheap-skate ghostly stories with the betrayal of Judas without being aware of it. Matt 7.15-27 Matt.27,29,37 On non-existence rights? Luke 3.7-9 Exodus 1.5 What do you think?
  9. Palestine and the Arab League (including Iran) have continually expressed to the US and UN their acceptance of a two-state solution of the Israeli/Palestinian issue on international borders "the international concensus. The only two major actors that do not accept this concensus are the United States and Israel ... [they] continue to reject and block a diplomatic settlement ... and render it impossible by their illegal actions, as they have for the past thirty years". (Chomsky, 2007. p14) Iran also offered 30 years ago to negotiate all issues, including the nuclear one with the US. The US response was to ignore the offer and continue to accuse Iran of intransigence and determination to develop nuclear weapons as well as to commitment to the destruction of Israel. Iran is also the only, or one of the few, nations to have signed up to the International Atomic Energy Agency proposal to place weapons grade fissionable materials production under international control. The US and Israel are certainly not. These two are also of the few countries who have refused to comply with rulings of the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court. They are the outlaw nations, and their media, owned by fellow-members of the respective ruling plutocracies, ensure that the truth is obscured from their populations. The current campaign of lies is reminiscent of the preparations for the Iraqi armed oil robbery (war requires a victim with the means to fight back) and would almost certainly lead to a similar campaign except that: a) US fingers have been severely burned in Iraq b) Iran would almost certainly look east to Russia and/or, equally oil-hungry as the US, China for succour from the international bandit. A defeat would almost certainly force the US out of Iraq. If this happened, Shi'ite majority in south Iraq would probably link up with that in Iran and could embolden or assist those in the closest and oil-rich part of Saudi. This could threaten the extremely repressive Islamic extremist US-backed Saudi government - jewel in the US middle east crown. Posturing is therefore expected from the neo-con posers, but action could be disastrous. With the destructive 'leave chaos for the incoming Democrat Government' mindset of the neo-cons this is possible, but unlikely.
  10. it has the right to use it for peaceful purposes but not to make WMDs (against the NPT, and would cause an inbalance of power in the ME). its abit suspicious how iran wont take up russia's offer of enriching uranium there. if iran starts kicking out UN inspectors, then thats when we should be suspicious. no country would gain from iran having a nuclear weapon, and alot would have alot to lose
